Getting Started

What is a Video Ad?
A Video Ad is an advertisement that is a complete video production, often called commercials or infomercials.

Why use a Video Ad?
Online video ads are quickly becoming the medium of choice to drive both brand awareness and sales.

Video Ads allow the Advertiser to deliver a complete message to the viewer, pre-qualifying them before they decide to view the offer. Research shows this leads to increased sales conversions and therefore a higher Return on Investment (ROI), compared to text and banner ads.

What size are the Video Ads?
You are able to book a video ad in any of the banner ad sizes we currently have available. We classify video as simply a media type like a JPG or GIF image file; you can book a video on a banner Ad Group just the same.

Booking a Video Ad

What do I need to book a Video Ad?
There are two specific requirements you need to book a Video Ad, these are:

  1. Splash image - The image which will be displayed when your Video Ad is in its initial state; waiting to be played.
  2. Path to your FLV file - FLV, or Flash Video is the name of a file format used to deliver video over the Internet. You need to provide the path (URL) to the FLV file of your Video Ad. For more information on FLV files visit wikipedia.

The rest of a Video Ad booking is no different to any other ad; that is you require information such as a Campaign Name, Ad Rating, Ad Industry etc...

I do not have an FLV file, how do I get one?
You might have your Video Ad in another format such as MPG or AVI. The easiest way to get an FLV file for your video is to upload it to a video sharing site like YouTube. From there you can use a tool to extract the FLV path of the video on YouTube, we recommend using KeepVid.com.

Below are some screenshots to show you how easy this is to do:

Step 1:
Upload your video to YouTube
Step 2:
View your video on YouTube
Step 3:
Use KeepVid to grab the FLV file location
Upload video to YouTube
Create a YouTube account (if you do not have one), then upload your video using the 'Video Upload" tool.
View your video on YouTube
Once YouTube has finished processing your video, view your video.
Grab FLV file location from KeepVid
Copy the URL of your video on YouTube and use KeepVid to determine the FLV file path.

How can I get a Video Ad made?
